Following the innovative use of mobile artillery by the German army at the outset of the conflict, the need for artillery pieces to be as mobile as tank battalions was universally recognised. The Allies initially mounted their first self-propelled artillery units on half-track vehicles, but the most effective solution manifested itself with the introduction of the M7 Priest. Using the hull of the M3 Lee medium tank the M7 was armed with a 105mm M2A1 howitzer. It was deployed operationally for the first time in 1942 by British troops who gave it the nickname "Priest", due to the position of the machine gun in the front of the vehicle which resembled a Church pulpit. Robust and reliable, it had a plentiful supply of ammunition and provided effective indirect support fire. Article number: 510006364 Product: 1:35 US M8 Greyhound At the beginning of World War II, the U.S. Army had lightweight and lightly armed vehicles, called "scout cars," for advanced reconnaissance activities. Developed during the war, the M-8 Greyhound armored car, characterized by increased protection and heavier armament, represented a turning point for the American army. The vehicle provided greater operational flexibility and could be more effectively used to support ground troops thanks to the 37mm cannon installed in the turret. First used on the Italian front, from Monte Cassino to Anzio, it later participated in the D-Day operations in June 1944. Although the terrain in Normandy proved difficult and challenging during the initial stages of the operation, the M-8 was highly appreciated for its speed and versatility. Among the various boats in production, the Vosper MTB 72’6" were characterized by a significant life cycle with different mission profiles as the coastal patrol and the anti-submarine support in the North Sea and English Channel. Moves from 3 engines with and impressive power of 4,200 hp, Vosper MTB was able to reach a speed close to 40 knots (70 km/h). The first versions were introduced at the beginning of the war but were gradually introduced new variants, type I and type II, which were characterized by a different combination of offensive and defensive weaponry. They were usually armed with 457 mm torpedo tubes., depth charges, and 0.303" Vickers machine guns or, more rarely, from 0.5" Vickers machine guns , for air defence. The crew consisted of 10 to 13 men.

In 1940, after World War II had broken out, the US general staff ordered various factories to design a light multi-purpose vehicle with all-wheel drive. The American Bantam Company, Willys Overland, and Ford Motor Co. competed with each other. Willys prototype was chosen, which, after an initial run of 1500 vehicles, went into mass production at the beginning of 1941 and reached a total output of 640.000 units out of which 277.000 pieces were produced by Ford under a licensing agreement. This shows that the Jeep was the most widely produced light vehicle of the war industry during World War II.

It was designed and developed for export, and it was the combination of reconnaissance system of the RF-4C with the airframe and the powerful engines of the F-4E. The German Luftwaffe received the first samples in the early 70s and became one of the main users along with Japan, Iran, Israel and Greece. Furthermore, many components and reconnaissance systems were also manufactured in Germany. The RF-4E was able to carry out reconnaissance missions "all-weather" in a very effective way thanks to the cameras installed in the bays, the infrared sensors, and the target looking radar system. Article number: 510006584 Product: 1:35 Semovente M42 da 75/34 At the end of the 1930’s the Italian Regio Esercito (Royal Italian Army) began to deploy self-propelled artillery guns to provide support for tanks and infantry units. The ‘Semovente’ 75/18 was developed on the back of the ‘M’ series medium tank hull and soon became the most feared Italian armored vehicle. In addition to its primary artillery role, the 75mm howitzer installed in the casemate proved to be a highly effective anti-tank weapon, capable of destroying even the most powerful and heavily armored British and American tanks. During the war however, the Italian Regio Esercito requested the development of a version with increased offensive capability. The 75/34 cannon which was originally designed for an anti-tank role, was fitted to the hull of the M42 self-propelled tank. The initial units of which, were distributed to the Italian Army in the spring of 1943. As a result of its effective operational performance, it was also used by German anti-tank battalions after the armistice in September 1943.

It was characterized by the low-mounted delta wing solution, the two small air intakes on the fuselage sides, and the adoption of the single Pratt & Whitney J52 turbojet engine. It was directly developed by the fighter Vought F-8 Crusade airframe. The A-7 was characterized by the large frontal air intake under the cabin, by the 35° foldable swept wing to optimize the use and the storage on the aircraft carriers flight decks and by the adoption of a modern Head-up-Display to enhance the operational effectiveness. Thanks to its underwing hardpoints the A-7 was able to carry an impressive offensive load based on conventional bombs, guided bombs as the Paveway and air-to-surface missiles. The A-7E was the last version produced for the U.S Navy with an improved operational capability and the possibility to use the Harpoon anti-ship missiles and the AGM-88 HARM anti-radiation missiles. In Italy, a similar version is produced on license by Agusta Westland under the designation AB-212. The AB-212 is a medium, two-blade rotor powered by two Pratt & Whitney PT6T turbo shaft power turbines providing 1.342 Kw. It is a development of model 205, the main difference being an elongated fuselage. In the first half of the 2000s, the AB 212 was massively updated to enhance its operational capacity. It has been fitted with two 7,62mm swivelling machine guns on the tailgates, and the defensive equipment has been upgraded with antimissile flare launchers and additional ceramic and kevlar armour to protect the crew. The aim was to commission a specialized carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft to replace the outdated Grumman EA-6B Prowler. The Growler is directly derived from the tandem-seat fighter F/A-18 F Super Hornet and retains all of its main aerodynamic features and characteristics. Its General Electric engines enable the Growler to attain a maximum speed of mach 1.8 and its flight performance is similar to that of the main carrier-based aircraft. Article number: 510002667 Product: 1/48 F-14A TOMCAT Model Dim.: 39 cm Decals for one version The U.S. Navys first super-fighter, the F-14, was developed partially on the basis of experience gained with the F-111, a multi-role plane designed by General Dynamics, the Navy version of which, the F111B, was built by Grumman. The F-14A first flew on 21st December 1970, and production-line models started reaching squadrons in 1973. Squadrons VF-1 and VF-2 accompanied the last voyage of the aircraft carrier Enterprise in Vietnam, yet never saw combat. The Tomcat would not see action until 1981, when it shot down two Libyan Su-22s during an encounter over the Gulf of Sirte. Since then the F-14 has been updated several times and has taken parts in various conflicts in the Middle East (Iran-Iraq war, 1st and 2nd Gulf War), as well as in operations over the former Yugoslavia and minor skirmishes over the Mediterranean.
