Italeri P-38J Lightning 1:48 Aircraft Model Kit

The Italeri P-38J Lightning 1:48 aircraft model kit brings one of World War II's most distinctive fighter designs to the workbench with its twin-boom airframe and forward central cockpit. That unusual aerodynamic layout gives the finished model a striking presence in display form while keeping the build rooted in a historically recognisable aircraft. The full-size Lockheed P-38 Lightning used 2 Allison V-1710 V-12 engines rated at 1425 hp each and reached more than 660 km/h, details that define the character behind this scale replica. Its armament combined 4 Browning 12.7 mm machine guns with a Hispano M2 cannon, concentrating firepower in the nose rather than the wings. The aircraft's long-range role made it especially effective in the Pacific theatre and in bomber escort missions over Europe.
