Macchi MC. 200 Series XXI-XXIII Aircraft Kit

The Italeri Macchi MC. 200 Series XXI-XXIII is a 1:48 aircraft kit centred on one of Italy's key Second World War fighter designs. Its monoplane configuration and all-metal airframe mark the step beyond the earlier Fiat CR 32 and Fiat CR 42 biplanes, giving the finished build a distinct silhouette with radial engine, fixed landing gear and compact fighter proportions. The subject represents the Macchi MC. 200 developed by Mario Castoldi and powered in service by the 14-cylinder Fiat A.74 RC 38 double-star engine rated at 840 HP, with the real aircraft reaching 500 km/h. The historical armament layout is reflected in the Series XXI-XXIII focus, covering versions with 2 12.7 mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns above the engine nacelle and later aircraft with 2 additional 7.7 mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns in the wings. Photo-etched parts bring extra definition to finer areas, while the decals sheet opens 6 finishing options with unit markings and camouflage references drawn from wartime service. Those 6 versions place the aircraft across several fronts, including Libya, Sicily, Ukraine and other theatres named for the Regia Aeronautica.
