Italeri Tornado GR.1/IDS Gulf War Kit 1:48

Italeri Tornado GR.1/IDS Gulf War in 1:48 brings the shape of a multirole combat aircraft into a detailed plastic kit with a strong historical setting. The variable-sweep wing, twin-engine configuration and low-altitude strike role give this aircraft a distinctive silhouette on the workbench and in a finished display. The Tornado was developed jointly by British, German and Italian companies and served in several roles, including ground attack, electronic combat and reconnaissance, plus interceptor duties. Its main task remained low-altitude penetrating strike missions, supported by a broad offensive weapons load and 2 afterburning turbofans. In service, the aircraft could reach a maximum speed of Mach 2.2. This edition centres on the Gulf War period, when Italian Tornados IDS took part in the 1991 air campaign aimed at military targets and infrastructure. During assembly, the changing wing geometry, 2-seat cockpit layout and combat-aircraft proportions give the model a focused military aviation character. Once finished, the Gulf War markings and desert scheme suit shelf display alongside other modern aircraft subjects, while the 3-version decals sheet adds choice to the final finish.
