Italeri F-35B Lightning II 1:72 Model Kit brings the STOVL version of the Joint Strike Fighter into a compact aircraft build with a finished length of 21.7 cm. The single-seat, single-engine jet is shaped around the distinctive features of the F-35B configuration, including the lift-system layout and the surfaces associated with short take-off and vertical landing operations, giving the completed aircraft a recognisable modern carrier-borne silhouette. This detailed plastic kit is based on 100% new moulds and focuses on the angular fuselage, trapezoidal wings and stealth-driven form of the original aircraft. The decal sheet supports 3 versions, covering Royal Navy Lightning Force, U.S. Marine Corps VMFA-121 and Marina Militare markings, so the same airframe can be finished in different service identities. The included U.S. 'Beast mode' external armament set adds another display direction by fitting the aircraft with a heavier external weapons configuration. Assembly time is stated as 600 minutes. On the workbench, the combination of new mould tooling, multiple marking choices and the external stores set supports a build that can be approached as a clean flight deck aircraft or a more heavily armed operational machine. Once completed, the 1:72 scale makes the model easy to place in a display cabinet, on a desk or alongside other modern military aircraft in the same scale.
