CANT Z.501 Gabbiano model kit 1:72 seaplane

The Italeri CANT Z.501 Gabbiano brings a distinctive Italian flying boat into 1:72 scale, capturing the long central hull, broad high wing and stabilising lateral floats that defined this maritime reconnaissance aircraft. As a detailed assembly kit, it turns the unusual seaplane layout into a focused build with a strong display presence once the airframe is complete. The original CANT Z.501 was developed in the 1930s by engineer Filippo Zappata for Cantieri Riuniti dell'Adriatico and served in patrol, search and rescue, and reconnaissance roles at sea. Its full-size configuration used a 900 HP Isotta Fraschini Asso XI engine and reached a maximum speed of 275 km/h, details that place the model within a clearly documented aviation context. The aircraft entered operational service during the Spanish Civil War and later saw extensive use by the Regia Aeronautica in the Mediterranean theatre during World War II. Defensive armament on the original aircraft consisted of three 7.7 mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns, and it could also carry a limited offensive payload.
