Italeri FIAT CR.42 CN Falco Night Fighter 1:72

The Italeri FIAT CR.42 CN Falco Night Fighter in 1:72 scale captures one of the last operational biplane fighters of the late 1930s in a compact aircraft model kit with a strong historical profile. The subject combines the familiar fixed landing gear and open cockpit layout of the C.R. 32 lineage with the dedicated CN night fighter configuration, giving the finished aircraft a distinct silhouette on the display shelf. The original C.R. 42 introduced an aluminum and steel structure covered with metal and fabric, and that mixed construction gives this aircraft its characteristic surface contrast. Power came from the Fiat A.74 air-cooled radial engine, which pushed the full-size fighter to 400 km/h and shaped the compact nose profile seen on the model. Italeri also marks this release with new parts, focusing the build on the Night Fighter version with its extended exhausts, a feature developed to reduce visibility during nighttime operations. The set also provides a super decals sheet for 5 versions, opening several marking directions for the same airframe. On the bench, the biplane layout, radial engine front and period undercarriage create a build with plenty of classic aviation character in a manageable 1:72 format. Once finished, the model suits historical aircraft collections, WWII aviation displays and diorama scenes centered on night interception or Regia Aeronautica subjects.
