The Italeri 1:48 EA-18G Growler brings a modern carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft into scale form with the long, twin-seat fuselage and naval jet profile derived from the F/A-18F Super Hornet. As a detailed plastic kit, it focuses on the specific configuration that sets the Growler apart, including the dedicated electronic warfare installation in place of the standard 20 mm cannon and the external stores associated with its mission. The full-size aircraft uses General Electric engines and reaches a maximum speed of Mach 1.8, with flight performance described as similar to the main carrier-based aircraft in U.S. Navy service. The real aircraft operates with a 2-man crew made up of a pilot and a WSO, and that tandem arrangement shapes the cockpit and canopy layout of the model.
