Italeri 1:48 US F-22A Raptor captures the distinctive form of the Lockheed Martin-Boeing stealth fighter in a detailed plastic model build. The sharply angled surfaces, twin vertical stabilizers and compact fuselage layout give the finished aircraft the unmistakable silhouette of a 5th generation USAF jet, creating a striking presence on the workbench and in a display cabinet. The full-size F-22 is powered by 2 Pratt & Whitney F119 turbofan engines with afterburners and vector thrust through the exhaust nozzles, and this kit draws on that advanced aircraft design for its overall shape and technical character. The original aircraft combines aerodynamic profiling with high-tech materials to reduce radar detectability, while the intake and exhaust design also supports lower heat and noise signatures. Internal loading bays for air-to-air and air-to-surface armament are another defining feature of the aircraft concept, and the advanced avionics are built for long-range target detection, tracking and acquisition. In the model, these design cues translate into a build centered on modern combat-aircraft geometry rather than exposed external stores. With an assembly time of 600 minutes, the kit offers a substantial project for model builders aged 14 years and up. The included assembly kit is supported by a decals sheet for 3 marking versions, adding unit insignia, serials, rescue markings and weapons stencils that sharpen the final finish. Paints, cement and tools are required separately.
