1:14 Construction Platform Long, truck body

Built for the TAMIYA Volvo FH16 wood transporter, this 1:14 Construction Platform Long changes the model from a timber hauler into a flatbed body for building materials. The conversion is based on a CNC-milled steel frame with an integrated auxiliary frame, creating a solid mounting structure with the original attachment points and screw connections. The body combines a steel base carrier with CNC-milled aluminium dropsides, each finished with detailed surface engraving on both sides. Powerful Neodym magnets are embedded almost invisibly into the dropsides, so the side panels close cleanly without exposed latches. The loading area measures 550 x 195 x 130 mm, and the approx. 75 mm dropside height gives the body the tall, purposeful look of a working construction transporter. At 2,400 g, the assembled structure adds substantial presence to the chassis, while the real wooden floor application brings a contrasting deck surface that can be finished to match the chosen build style. On the bench, the conversion offers a detailed body project with functional side access and clearly defined metal components. Mounted on the chassis, the open platform suits scenes with pallets, beams or general site cargo, while the fold-down layout supports realistic loading and unloading displays. Rear lights contained within the construction kit can be installed with the separately available aluminium underride guard with rear light holder.
