Despite its extensive amour and armament the A-10 is highly maneuverable which is particularly important to overcome enemy anti-aircraft fire. The Thunderbolt (also called "Warthog") was practically built around its remarkable 30 mm gun GAU-8, which can perforate tank amour with its special high performance ammunition. The aircraft was widely used during the Gulf War, where it successfully destroyed a few hundred Iraqis vehicles with minimum losses despite the heavy enemy defense of conventional and missile fire power. A.10 Around the mid-2000s, the A-10, updated to "C" standard, has been improved to be in line with the changed and evolved operational needs. The A-10C is, in fact, the most modern version of the robust and reliable strike aircraft able to use the most advanced weapon systems and target acquisition pods.

During the war, new versions with differing operational profiles were introduced. The Ju-87G was developed as an "anti-tank" version of the Stuka, to counter the vast array of enemy armored vehicles deployed on the eastern front post 1943.The Stuka "ace" Hans Ulrich Rudel proposed the addition of two 37 mm Flak 18 cannons housed in underwing pods to better counter this developing threat. With this configuration the Ju-87G "Kanonenvogel" proved extremely effective in the hands of experienced pilots.   Warning! Not suitable for children under 14 years.

Squadrons VF-1 and VF-2 accompanied the last voyage of the aircraft carrier Enterprise in Vietnam, yet never saw combat. The Tomcat would not see action until 1981, when it shot down two Libyan Su-22s during an encounter over the Gulf of Sirte. Since then the F-14 has been updated several times and has taken parts in various conflicts in the Middle East (Iran-Iraq war, 1st and 2nd Gulf War), as well as in operations over the former Yugoslavia and minor skirmishes over the Mediterranean.

Article number: 510002828 Product: 1:48 Hurricane Mk.II C The Hawker Hurricane was the most common and most widely used fighter of the British Royal Air Force at the start of the Second World War. It contributed significantly to the ultimate victory of the R.A.F. during the Battle of Britain, but over the course of the war it was progressively superceded in its front-line fighter role by the much more modern Spitfire. However, the Hurricane’s role was gradually changed by the provision of very specific versions and armaments. The Hurricane Mk. IIC for example was equipped with 4 powerful 20 mm Hispano-Suiza cannons mounted in the wings with nearly 400 rounds of ammunition. The adoption of 20 mm cannons, instead of the traditional 7.7 mm machine guns, made the Hurricane extremely effective in ground attack and close support missions. Additionally, the Hurricane Mk. IIC was effectively deployed in a night fighter role. Detailed Plastic Kit
