AMX Ghibli Aircraft Model Kit 1:72 Scale

The Italeri AMX Ghibli model kit brings a modern military aircraft into 1:72 scale with newly tooled parts, photo-etched details and markings for 4 versions. The finished build reflects the high swept wing layout of the original AMX "Ghibli", a single-engine ground attack aircraft developed through cooperation between the Italian and Brazilian aviation industries. This assembly kit is made for hands-on construction and finishing, with 600 minutes of assembly time supporting a more involved build. The aircraft represented here was developed in the 1980s to replace the Fiat G-91Y in Italian service, while Brazil also used the programme to replace the MB-326. The original aircraft used a Rolls-Royce Spey 807 engine and could reach 1,000 km/h. Italian service aircraft carried a 20 mm M61 cannon and an offensive payload of 3,800 kg, details that give the subject its distinct operational identity. On the workbench, the 1:72 format suits careful painting, decal placement and display planning without demanding excessive space. Once completed, the AMX Ghibli sits naturally in a modern military aviation collection, whether displayed as a single aircraft or alongside other late Cold War and post-Cold War jet subjects.
