It first flew in 1935 and made its combat debut in 1936 as part of the Condor Legion during the Spanish Civil War. The aircraft was easily recognizable by its inverted gull wings and fixed landing gear. The Stuka's design included several innovative features including automatic pull-up dive brakes set under both wings to ensure that the plane recovered from its attack dive, even if the pilot blacked out from the acceleration. It soon became the iconic aircraft of the German ‘Blitzkrieg’ during the first stages of the Second World War, where it provided close air support to the Wehrmacht Panzer Divisions. It was also used by the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain, where it’s weaknesses became apparent in comparison to the faster and better armed, more modern fighters, such as the Hurricane and Spitfire. Comparé aux biplans Fiat CR32 et CR42 qui équipaient en majorité les escadrons de chasse de la force aérienne italienne (Regia Aeronautica) au début de la 2ème G.M., le Macchi MC200 se distinguait, comme le Fiat G50 de l’époque, par sa configuration monoplan et sa structure entièrement métallique. Le moteur 14 cylindres en double étoile Fiat A.74 RC 38 développant 840cv lui permettait d’atteindre 500km/h. Comparé aux chasseurs alliés, il était sous-motorisé et sa puissance de feu insuffisante. Les deux mitrailleuses de capot Breda-SAFAT de 12,7mm constituaient le seul armement interne. Sur les dernières versions produites, deux mitrailleuses supplémentaires - des Breda-SAFAT de 7,7mm, étaient montées dans les ailes. Le MC200 fut utilisé par la Regia Aeronautica sur divers fronts de la 2ème G.M., en Afrique, en Méditerranée, dans les Balkans et en Russie.

Le Northrop F-5 est né dans les années 60 pour répondre aux besoins de nombreux pays membres de l'OTAN qui avaient besoin d'un avion de chasse polyvalent simple, peu coûteux et facile à entretenir. De sa cellule d'origine, le F-5E Tiger II est né au début des années 1970. Équipé d'une paire de nouveaux propulseurs J85-GE-21 en mesure de fournir une puissance et une poussée nettement supérieures à celles de la version précédente, il présentait un fuselage allongé et élargi. Les performances de vol améliorées grâce à la nouvelle disposition aérodynamique, la portée opérationnelle accrue et l'avionique améliorée ont permis au Tiger II d'être déployé avec succès par de nombreuses forces aériennes. L'armement de base est constitué de deux canons de 20 mm, installés dans le nez en dessous de la cabine et par la possibilité d'utiliser plusieurs combinaisons de missiles air-air. From 1933 onwards, Germany's rearmament planning became ever more ambitious, with a particularly significant increase in the production of howitzers and field cannons. The SFH18 had a simple and reliable structure with a maximum range of 13.5 km. It could be divided into two sections and towed by horses, or more often during the war, by half-tracks. The SFH18 had a seven-man crew. During this operation the town of Bastogne and its surroundings where encircled by the German troops. Inside the pocket around 15.000 American soldiers stood up to the repeated assaults of the German army for approximately ten days. The legendary resistance was that of the US 101st Airborne division inside the town. On December 22nd the General von Lüttwitz , who was the German commander, submitted a demand for surrender to the encircled units. The answer of the American commander in Bastogne, Brigadier General Anthony McAuliffe was "NUTS". Then, Germans renew their attacks trying to occupy the city but without getting results. On December 26th some soldiers of the General George Patton’s Third Army reached the besieged troops, breaking the siege and evacuating the wounded. The two 12-cylinder Isotta Fraschini Delta RC 35 engines delivered 730 hp and allowed the Caproni to attain a maximum speed of 430 km / h. The engines powered three-blade metal propellers with variable pitch. The Ca.314 version was modified for use in other roles such as ground attack, maritime reconnaissance, convoy escort and as a torpedo bomber. Grace à son moteur radial Fiat A.74 suralimenté et refroidi par air, la Fiat C.R.42 a pu atteindre 400 Km / h. Il avait une maniabilité extraordinaire, très appréciée des pilotes italiens, mais souffrait des limites de configuration "biplan". Il a réussi à engager avec succès les Gloster Gladiators mais il a rapidement été surclassé par des monoplans plus rapides et lourdement armés comme le Hawker Hurricane et le Supermarine Spitfire. Plusieurs Fiat C.R.42, avec les chasseurs Fiat G 50 et les bombardiers BR-20 et CANT Z 1007, ils furent également utilisés pendant la Bataille d'Angleterre, encadrés dans l'Armée de l'Air Italienne. Produit à plus de 20 000 exemplaires à partir de 1941, il a été, avec le Messerschmitt Bf 109, le chasseur le plus célèbre de la Luftwaffe. Dans les premières versions, comme le Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-8, le chasseur était équipé d'un moteur radial BMW 801 D-2 à double étoile avec 14 cylindres de 1 700 Hp, ce qui lui permettait d'atteindre la vitesse maximale de 653 km/h. Au fil du temps, les concepteurs, à partir de la cellule aérodynamique réussie de l'avion, ont réalisé ce qui peut être considéré comme sa plus grande évolution. L'adoption du puissant moteur Junkers Jumo 213 à 12 cylindres et à refroidissement liquide a entraîné la révision du design de l'avion, qui s'est caractérisé par un nez allongé. La version D était en fait surnommée « Langnasen-Dora » (Dora à long nez) par les pilotes de la Luftwaffe, mais une fois en vol, ils ont immédiatement apprécié ses caractéristiques et son potentiel.
