Article number: 510002807 Product: 1:48 Junkers JU-87B Stuka Bat.o.Brit. Model Dim.: 22,9 cm "Battle of Britain 80th Anniversary" Super Decals Sheet The Junkers Ju 87 Stuka was a two-seat dive-bomber/ground-attack aircraft. It first flew in 1935 and made its combat debut in 1936 as part of the Condor Legion during the Spanish Civil War. The aircraft was easily recognizable by its inverted gull wings and fixed landing gear. The Stuka's design included several innovative features including automatic pull-up dive brakes set under both wings to ensure that the plane recovered from its attack dive, even if the pilot blacked out from the acceleration. It soon became the iconic aircraft of the German ‘Blitzkrieg’ during the first stages of the Second World War, where it provided close air support to the Wehrmacht Panzer Divisions. It was also used by the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain, where it’s weaknesses became apparent in comparison to the faster and better armed, more modern fighters, such as the Hurricane and Spitfire.

It was directly developed by the fighter Vought F-8 Crusade airframe. The A-7 was characterized by the large frontal air intake under the cabin, by the 35° foldable swept wing to optimize the use and the storage on the aircraft carriers flight decks and by the adoption of a modern Head-up-Display to enhance the operational effectiveness. Thanks to its underwing hardpoints the A-7 was able to carry an impressive offensive load based on conventional bombs, guided bombs as the Paveway and air-to-surface missiles. The A-7E was the last version produced for the U.S Navy with an improved operational capability and the possibility to use the Harpoon anti-ship missiles and the AGM-88 HARM anti-radiation missiles. Attention ! Article number: 510002667 Product: 1/48 F-14A TOMCAT Model Dim.: 39 cm Decals for one version The U.S. Navys first super-fighter, the F-14, was developed partially on the basis of experience gained with the F-111, a multi-role plane designed by General Dynamics, the Navy version of which, the F111B, was built by Grumman. The F-14A first flew on 21st December 1970, and production-line models started reaching squadrons in 1973. Squadrons VF-1 and VF-2 accompanied the last voyage of the aircraft carrier Enterprise in Vietnam, yet never saw combat. The Tomcat would not see action until 1981, when it shot down two Libyan Su-22s during an encounter over the Gulf of Sirte. Since then the F-14 has been updated several times and has taken parts in various conflicts in the Middle East (Iran-Iraq war, 1st and 2nd Gulf War), as well as in operations over the former Yugoslavia and minor skirmishes over the Mediterranean.

This characteristic "inverted gull wing" aircraft became famous at the early stage of the war and it can be considered, together with the Wehrmacht Panzer Division, the symbol of the "Blitzkrieg". The Italian Regia Aeronautica requested to the German ally, before the beginning of the war, a specific supply of one hundred "Stuka" to equip its ground attack and dive bombing Squadrons. The first Ju-87B units arrived in the summer of 1940 and went to equip the 96º Gruppo Bombardamento a Tuffo. The Ju-87, either in the B2 version or in the extender range R2 version, equipped other "Gruppi di Volo" for a total of 150 planes. The Italian "Stuka", nicknamed "Picchiatello", was used by Regia Aeronautica over Malta, in North Africa, in the Balkans and in the Mediterranean Theatre.
