1:48 A-7 E Corsair II

The Italeri 1:48 A-7E Corsair II model kit captures the distinctive lines of the U.S. Navy light attack aircraft in a 29.0 cm format that gives the finished build a strong shelf presence. Built from ESCI moulds, the assembly kit focuses on the final A-7E version, known for its carrier-based role, its large frontal air intake under the cockpit and its 35° swept wing with foldable outer sections on the full-size aircraft. The subject matter adds historical depth as well as visual character. The real A-7E was developed to replace the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk and A-1 Skyraider, and its operational configuration expanded to carry conventional bombs, guided Paveway bombs and air-to-surface missiles. On the full-size aircraft, a Head-up-Display formed part of the updated combat equipment, while underwing hardpoints defined its attack role. The included super decals sheet opens 4 finishing versions, with markings shown for U.S. Navy squadrons including VA-72 Blue Hawks, VA-22 Fighting Redcocks and VA-83 Rampagers.
