Inside the Reference Leaflet with historical features, instruction and color indication In ancient times Athens was built around the hill of the Acropolis, on a plain bordered by two small rivers, the Eridanus in the north and the Ilisos in the south. Today the area is only dominated by the Parthenon. The great temple, which Pericles entrusted to the care of the architects Ictinus and Callicrates and to the artistic supervision of Phidias, was built between 447 and 432 B.C. to replace the previous archaic building, called Hekatòmpedon, which literally means "one hundred feet long". Built in pentelic marble in Doric style, the Parthenon was internally divided into two main rooms: the cell, with the statue of Athena Partenos ("the Virgin"), made by Phidias in gold and ivory and high over 12 metres; on the back, the real Parthenon, a colonnaded hall reserved to the young virgins engaged in the worship of the goddess. Au début de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, l'armée américaine disposait de « scout cars » légers et peu armés pour les activités de reconnaissance avancée. Développé au cours de la guerre, le véhicule blindé M-8 Greyhoud, qui offrait une meilleure protection et un armement plus lourd, a représenté un tournant pour l'armée américaine. Le véhicule offre une plus grande flexibilité opérationnelle et peut être utilisé plus efficacement pour soutenir les troupes au sol grâce au canon de 37 mm installé dans la tourelle. D'abord utilisé sur le front italien, de Montecassino à Anzio, il a ensuite participé aux opérations du jour J en juin 1944. Bien que le terrain de Normandie se soit révélé difficile et exigeant au cours des premières phases de l'opération, par la suite, le M-8 a été particulièrement apprécié pour sa rapidité de déplacement et sa polyvalence d'utilisation. La version M-20 a été développée à partir de la version M8 pour des missions de police militaire et de véhicule de commandement. Attention ! Ne convient pas aux enfants de moins de 14 ans.

Le Panzerkampfwagen V « Panther » a certainement été l'un des plus célèbres chars de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il voit le jour comme une réponse directe aux chars soviétiques T-34 et KV-1 qui surclassèrent, de par leurs prestations et armement, les Panzer III et Panzer IV désormais datés sur le front Est. Fonctionnant avec un moteur V-12 Mayback de 700 chevaux, il était armé du canon KwK de 42 à 75 mm, à grande vitesse, très efficace surtout pour l'emploi antichar. Grâce au projet valide qui optimisait la protection, avec l’adoption de l’armature avant inclinée, la mobilité, la vitesse et l’armement, le Panther peut être considéré comme l’un des meilleurs chars de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale, et fut utilisé sur tous les principaux fronts de l’Italie à la France, ou encore le front Est.
