1:72 Tu-22M2 Backfire B

Italeri Tu-22M2 Backfire B brings a large Cold War bomber subject into 1:72 scale with the long fuselage, swept wings and twin-engine layout that define this aircraft. The detailed plastic kit is built as an assembly project and suits model builders aged 14 years and over who want a substantial aviation subject on the bench. The subject itself traces back to the Tupolev TU-22M family developed in the late 1960s and introduced with the Soviet Air Force during the 1970s. Its variable-geometry wing concept and Mach 1.9 capability give the finished model a strong technical identity beyond its silhouette alone. The kit also draws on original moulds from ESCI, linking this release to a well-known tooling heritage. New decals are included, and the super decals sheet allows 3 versions, opening different marking routes during the finishing stage. The instruction material also shows a Kh-22 missile and multiple paint and marking references for the aircraft views.
