The FIAT 806 Grand Prix model kit in 1:12 scale brings a landmark 1927 racing car into a large 30 cm format with the long proportions, exposed suspension layout and open cockpit that define early Grand Prix design. Built from upgraded Protar moulds, this assembly kit focuses on the engineering character that made the original FIAT 806 such a notable machine in motorsport history. The full-size car used a 180 HP 12-cylinder engine and was developed with major innovations in chassis, mechanics and bodywork. On the original vehicle, the engine and gearbox unit sat between the two chassis bars to optimize performance and drivability, and that unusual layout gives the model much of its technical interest during the build. More than 400 parts create a dense construction project with room for careful finishing across the body panels, cockpit and running gear. The bonnet opens on the completed model to expose the engine bay, while photo-etched parts and metallic accessories such as screws, nuts and springs bring extra definition to smaller areas. With 600 minutes assembly time, the kit suits a slower, workshop-style build where each stage can be handled with attention to fit and finish. Paints, tools and cement are required separately. Once completed, the working steering and soft rubber tires give the FIAT 806 Grand Prix a convincing period stance for shelf display, cabinet presentation or a motorsport-focused collection.
