Article number: 510106096 Product: 1/72 WWII German PAK40 AT Gun w/servants The 75mm Panzerabwehrkanone Pak 40 was brought in service at the beginning of 1941 and became the standard anti-tank gun of the German army. Despite being less powerful than the more famous "88", it was employed on all the fronts with excellent results. A light and easy to handle weapon, it weighed only 1500 kg and it was able to penetrate a 70mm plate at a range of 2000 meters. Slightly modified, it was also used on tank destroyers like the Marder, the Stug III and the Hetzer.

However, on the large rear flat load compartment some other applications have been developed. One modification was the Panzerwerfer 42 auf SWS, a 10 barreled 15 cm Nebelwerfer 42 rocket launched placed over an armored ammunition storage compartment. The rocket launcher, developed as device to create smoke screens, was soon used as real artillery able to launch high-explosive ammunitions. It could shoot the rocktes with impressive and deadly. It has been produced in a significant number of units and it formed the backbone of United Stated armoured forces during at those time. It has been produced in several variants and versions. The first version to be produced on wide scale was the Sherman M4A1 characterised by the rounded edges of the fully casted upper hull. Even the turret had a rounded appearance. The Sherman would entered combat in armoured corps of United States Army in 1942 during the first months of the war. It was armed with the 75 mm gun that was replaced in the latest A1 version with the high-speed 76 mm gun. Thanks to its Continental R975 gasoline engine the tank was able to obtain good performances on all type of terrains. However the most important strength of the tank was its project. Nevertheless, its commanders evaded the obstacle by introducing vehicles of the civil production, which was not subject to any limitations. Thus they set up entire companies equipped with motorvehicles, developing in this way a "motorized mentality" among the crews. The Zündapp. with a production total of 18.000 units due to its structure which guaranteed easy and economical handling - was considered one of the most modern accomplishments of the age in the field of motorcycle construction. Because of its extraordinary qualities, the Zündapp could follow and escort the tank units of the Wehrmacht and the Waffen-SS to all theatres of operations, especially in Russia, since the side car was even furnished with heating for hands and feet of the man. This was a reaction to the limits of its predecessor the model III with a 5 CM cannon compared to the threat of the enemys means, in particular the soviet T 34s which were equipped with an arm of that calibre as well as good armour plating. The model IV tank was extensively used on all fronts during the 2nd World War by the German Army. Many different gradually improved versions were produced to face the on-going improvements of the opponents means.

Initially armed with a 37mm cannon, the Panzer III moved rapidly to a 50mm cannon and, in the upgraded versions (Ausf M and L), to the 75/24 gun with 64 rounds already used on the Panzer IV. Article number: 510007072 Product: 1:72 Sd.Kfz 265 Kleiner Panzerbefehlswagen Model Dim.: 5,6 cm The Sd.Kfz 265 Kleine Panzerbefehlswagen armored command vehicle was born to meet the need of the Wehrmacht Panzer Division Commanders to follow, as close as possible, the tanks and better coordinate them on the battlefield. The armored command vehicle was designed on the Panzer I Ausf. B light tank chassis. To increase the space for the unit commander and his staff, the traditional rotating turret with the main armament was removed and a tall fixed superstructure was installed. The commander’s room was able to host the battle maps, the transmission and the communication systems. An additional radio antenna could be used, on the hull, to increase the range of radio communication. Produced from the second half of ‘30s the "Panzerbefehlswagen" has been used in combat operations in September 1939 during the Poland invasion. Article number: 510007063 Product: 1:72 US M3A1 Spähpanzer The White Motor Company began its study and development of the M3 in 1938 to supply the United States Army with an armored reconnaissance vehicle. Equipped with a 6 cylinder 110 Hp Hercules JXD petrol fueled engine, it could reach a maximum speed of 81 Km/h. Equipped with four-wheel drive, it was used for patrol, reconnaissance and command post. The vehicle could carry up to 8 men and was armed with a 12.7 mm Browning M2 machine gun plus two more Browning 7.7 mm machine guns on the sides. It was first used in the Philippines campaign in 1941. Used in North Africa and in Sicily, it was replaced during the war, for advanced exploration tasks, by the more modern M8 Greyhound. Besides being used by the American Army, it was used as well by the Armed Forces of England, France and by some divisions of the Red Army who used it on the Eastern front to pull 76 mm ZIS-3 cannons.
