Like her sister ships, Atago was named after a mountain: Mount Atago - located just outside of Kyoto. The design of the Takao-class evolved from the preceding Myōkō-class heavy cruisers, built in the 1920s. With thicker armor, dual-purpose main-battery guns and improved torpedo launcher safety, Takao-class vessels became the backbone of the IJN. Their main armament consisted of ten 20 cm/50 3rd Year Type naval guns, in five twin-mounted turrets and 24 Type 93 "Long Lance" torpedoes that could be launched from four quadruple-torpedo launchers. The size of the bridge was reduced, the main mast was relocated aftwards, and hull bulges were added to improve stability. Laid down on the 28th of April 1927 at the Kure Navy Arsenal – the same shipyard where the famous battleship Yamato was later constructed – Atago was launched on the 16th of June 1930. The final outfitting and sea trails took nearly 2 years, and the ship was finally commissioned on the 30th of March 1932.

IV medium tank served as the basis for many vehicles, including tank destroyers. At the end of 1944, a version of the 75-mm PaK 42 L/70 gun was prepared for this basis. The new variant of the vehicle was designated the JagdPzIV/70. From August 1944 through March 1945, the Nibelungenwerke company produced 278 vehicles of this type. Unlike most other tank destroyers of its tier, the Jagdpanzer IV is not optimized for sniping at long distances. Its guns simply do not have the penetration to do so. What it does have is a ferocious rate-of-fire with its top guns, excellent mobility, and a low and stealthy profile. As an added bonus, it also has fairly decent frontal armour for its tier.

Article number: 510036509 Product: 1/35 T-34/85 Length of the model 233 mm 100% New moulds Arguably the best medium tank of World War II, the T-34-85 was a crucial factor in the outcome of the conflict. Over 35,000 were produced, meaning that it also came to represent, from a Soviet standpoint, the supremacy of socialist industry over capitalism. It was the antithesis of German over-engineering. Designers favoured simple solutions that used fewer resources. It was therefore available in greater numbers – a telling factor as Axis forces were pushed out of the Soviet Union and back to Berlin. The T-34-85 was an up-gunned version of the T-34 tank which carried a 76mm gun that was insufficient at dealing with tanks like the Tiger and Panther. A new turret allowed the installation of an 85mm gun that was capable of penetrating German armour with greater ease. This tank also represented the first proper mass production of a sloped-hull design which meant that the armour could afford to be thinner while still providing the same effective protection. Coupled with sloping on the turret, the survivability of the tank compared to the original T-34 design was much better.the armour could afford to be thinner while still providing the same effective protection. Arguably the best light tank of the war, the vehicle was intended as a replacement for the M5 Stuart. The design departed quite a lot from those of earlier light tanks. Twin Cadillac engines and Hydramatic transmission enabled the vehicle to achieve high speeds, while torsion-bar suspension granted it good cross-country capabilities. A new lightweight 75mm gun packed decent firepower into the tank’s turret which, coupled with its low silhouette, was a nice advantage for a light tank. The M24 was used during the later part of World War II and in several post-war conflicts, from the Korean War to the First Indochina War.
Article number: 510036503 Product: 1/35 US M4 Sherman World of Tanks The model M4 Sherman in 1/35 scale has a length of about 16,5 cm. THE BOX CONTAIN: 1 MODEL KIT - 1 LIQUID CEMENT - 1 TANK GUIDE - WORLD oF TANKS DECALS - 3 INVITE CODES - 1 BONUS CODE The M4 Sherman medium tank was the primary tank used by the United States during World War II. It was the first and most basic production version of the Sherman line and also the most commonly-produced U.S. tank of WWII. It essentially formed the backbone of U.S armoured forces at that time. As many as 49,234 vehicles were produced. The Sherman evolved from the M3 Medium Tank, retaining a lot from this previous design. However, the M4’s design introduced a fully-traversable turret in combination with a 75mm gun. To facilitate production, the Sherman tank family was modified into a perplexing array of variants – from the basic M4 through to the famous "Easy Eight". Shermans first saw combat with British forces in North Africa in late 1942, against the Panzer III and Panzer IV. They would then go on to be used on all fronts until the war’s end. The tank was easy to produce en masse and quite reliable. A lack of firepower and narrow tracks, which often caused it to get stuck on muddy terrain, were its main weaknesses.
The model Tiger I in scale 1/35 has a length of about 24,1 cm. THE BOX CONTAIN: 1 MODEL KIT - 1 LIQUID CEMENT - 1 TANK GUIDE - WORLD oF TANKS DECALS - 3 INVITE CODES - 1 BONUS CODE The final official German designation for the tank was Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausf.E, often shortened to just "Tiger I". The Tiger’s development was started in 1937 by the company, Henschel. Mass production began in 1942 with a total of 1347 vehicles being manufactured over its production run. The initial model used suspension similar to that of the Panther. The hull extended over the tracks to accommodate the wide-ringed turret which could mount the infamous 8,8cm Kw.K 36 L/56. The Tiger first saw combat in the fighting for Leningrad and soon found itself featured in the majority of German armoured engagements. Even though production was discontinued in the summer of 1944, the Tiger I continued to see action until the end of the war. It was the first German heavy tank in WWII and soon proved itself to be extremely formidable against Allied and Soviet units which mostly consisted of Sherman tanks and T-34s at the time.

Likewise great care was taken to make sure the G6 could fit heavy armament for attacking bombers, which were beginning to appear in force over Germany, and the shortcoming of the Fw 190’s at high altitude became increasingly apparent. Kurt Tank, the designer of the venerable Fw-190 lineup quickly realized by 1943 that the field of aerial warfare was changing rapidly. The world had moved on beyond dive bombers, and the allies had begun forming massive, four engine bomber wings that devastated. Axis ground troops and factories. At the time, Fw-190’s played similar rolls to the American P-47 Thunderbolts, serving as ground attack planes and low altitude interceptors.

The T-55 model embraced some of the key features of the famous WW2 Russian T-34 tank, which was simplicity in design, effective, economic to produce and easy to repair on the battlefield. The qualities of the T-55 saw it taken into service not only by Warsaw Pact allies, but also a few years later by some African and Asian countries. The T-55 is considered to be one of the most notable MBTs (Main Battle Tanks) produced after WWII, evolving from the T-54 design through the adoption of an improved engine, more space for ammunition and more effective NBC (Nuclear Biological Chemical) protection. It was armed with a 100 mm gun and equipped with effective and heavy armor protection that brought its total weight up to 35 tons. It was in use for several decades in many theaters of operations, becoming one of the most revered armored vehicles in military history.

Powered by a Maybach 6-cylinder petrol engine it was able to reach a speed of 55 km / h even on ‘off road’ terrain. Produced in huge numbers, it was mainly used to transport ‘Panzergrenadiers’, but during the war several versions were developed to meet differing operational requirements. The Wurfrahmen rocket launcher version was built on the Sd.Kfz.251. Equipped with 6 compartments, 3 on each side, intended for the launch of rockets of different sizes, it was nicknamed "Stuka zu Fuss". Although not precise, it could have an important psychological effect on enemy troops and still proved to be a valid support for ground troops especially in urban fighting.
Article number: 510007078 Product: 1:72 T34/76 Mod. 43 The T-34 was one of the most famous tanks produced during WW11 and was the mainstay of the Soviet Army during this conflict. One of the key innovations introduced by the T-34 design was the sloped armor at the front which guaranteed a higher degree of protection from direct hits. The adoption of wide tracks provided excellent mobility on all types of terrain, including mud and snow. The first version of the T-34 which was armed with a 76 mm short barrel gun gained an immediate advantage over the most common German tanks of the era, such as the Panzer III and the Panzer IV. Due to its 12 Cylinders diesel engine, the tank was able to attain a maximum speed of 55 Km/h. It was considered, in terms of sheer operational effectiveness, the best tank of the Second World War.

Article number: 510006538 Product: 1:35 M36B1 Tank Destroyer Model Dim.: 21,3 cm PHOTO ETCHED FRET AND NEW GLUABLE TRACKS The American tank destroyer M36 was developed during the World War II to equip the Allies with an effective response to German armoured fighting vehicles, as Panther and Tiger, which were provided with strong armour and a great firepower. M36 offensive ability was based on its 90 mm M3 gun, better than the 76mm chosen for the preceding M10, which had the same hull. Similarly to all the American tank destroyers, the turret was open-topped, in order to give greater field of vision during the battle. M36B1 effectiveness is proven by its longevity. After World War II it has been used by many armies. It took part also in Iran-Iraq War during the 80s and in Balkan Wars during the 90s. Some of them were captured by Iraqi Army during the war against Iraq in 2003.
