In ancient times Athens was built around the hill of the Acropolis, on a plain bordered by two small rivers, the Eridanus in the north and the Ilisos in the south. Today the area is only dominated by the Parthenon.
The great temple, which Pericles entrusted to the care of the architects Ictinus and Callicrates and to the artistic supervision of Phidias, was built between 447 and 432 B.C. to replace the previous archaic building, called Hekatòmpedon, which literally means "one hundred feet long". Built in pentelic marble in Doric style, the Parthenon was internally divided into two main rooms: the cell, with the statue of Athena
Partenos ("the Virgin"), made by Phidias in gold and ivory and high over 12 metres; on the back, the real Parthenon, a colonnaded hall reserved to the young virgins engaged in the worship of the goddess. The decoration of the friezes, which was assigned to Pidias, the greatest sculptor of the time, contributed to make the temple even more beautiful temple, making it a formidable vehicle of complex ideological messages.making it a formidable vehicle of complex ideological messages.

The Panther was produced as a reaction to the tanks encountered by German forces during Operation Barbarossa. Having considered Soviet tank designs to be obsolete, German tank crews were stunned when they came up against concepts like sloped armour on the T-34 and the sheer size and brutality of the KV-1. The Panther, designed as a kind of multi-purpose tank, took Soviet innovations and supersized them.

Entering the battlefield from 1943 and weighing in at around 45 tonnes, this was a huge machine. It was technologically ambitious, seeking to combine armouring with speed and firepower. It mounted one of the best guns of the war - the dependable 7,5 cm Kw.K 42 L/70.

However, in needing the tank on the field as quickly as possible, many shortcuts were taken in the manufacture and testing of the Panther. Reliability problems and mechanical failures became the bane of its crews. It was an over-engineered design that left no room for cutting corners. Roughly 6000 Panthers were made, but arrived too late to make a difference. It cannot be denied that if it had arrived earlier, and with all its high-tech features operational, the path of history would have deviated.

P-47 N

Developed by North Republic Aviation, the main role of the P-47 Thunderbolt was Bomber Escort, at high altitude the ‘Jug’ could contend with the latest from the Luftwaffe. The design was to also include much better protection for the pilot by having increased armor around the cockpit, however this increased it’s weight substantially. It was the first American fighter to receive more than the standard x6 .50 caliber M2 Browning Machine guns, a total of 8 all together. The P-47N-15 can in many ways be considered an more specialized fighter version of the P-47D series of fighters, being built solely for a boom and zoom strategy. The key difference separating the P-47N from both the D-series and other planes in general at the battle rating is it’s top speed and maneuverability. bordering on just below 800 km/h, and with an airframe that can support it. This, coupled with its 8 devastating M2 .50 Brownings make it an extremely deadly and dangerous opponent.
P-51 D

The North-American P-51 Mustang was an American fighter designed in the early 1940s and is considered the best US fighter of WWII. It was widely exported to countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. The P-51 participated in the Korean War and other post-WWII conflicts. The most famous Mustang version was the P-51D with teardrop (or bubble) canopy. The main problem for the pilots of the earlier variants was a huge blind spot at the rear of the aircraft due to the canopy design. An earlier attempt to address the iss
