Product: 1:72 IJA Type 2 "Ka-Mi" Amphibious Tank
Dragon is reproducing a pair of 1/72 scale Japanese tanks from WWII. The
set includes a Japanese Type 2 "Ka-Mi" amphibious tank and a Type 97
Chi-Ha Late-Production medium tank. The former was used by the Imperial
Japanese Navy, while the latter was operated by the Japanese army in
WWII. Both types fought on Saipan in the Mariana Islands from June 15 to
July
9, 1944. Capture of the island by US troops allowed American B-29 Superfortress bombers to directly target Japan from Saipan
The two 1/72 scale kits allow modelers to field tanks that were used in
both tropical and temperate regions of Asia, as well as countering the
Pacific island-hopping campaign of the USA and the Allies. Decals for
both Japanese tank types fighting on Saipan are certainly among the
options. Fully utilizing Dragon’s technological expertise, this brace of
little tanks is a masterpiece of accurate kit engineering. They come
with one-piece tracks, for instance, for easy assembly. Detail is
delicately but realistically reproduced. Even though they might be small
tanks in this scale, reflecting the fact that Japanese tanks were
relatively small compared to those of other combatants in WWII, these
are still extremely stunning little packages from Dragon Armor Pro Series!
