Article number: 510007034 Product: 1:72 Sd. Kfz 250/3 The half-track Sd.Kfz. 250 was widely used by German mechanized troops during the Second World War. Based upon on the technical "lay-out" of the Sd.Kfz.10 artillery tractor, it was intended to be a flexible and reliable solution for integrating infantry and armored troop movements. The Sd.Kfz. 250 was armed with either one or two 7.92mm MG34 machine guns and could deploy, with a high level of protection, a 4-man infantry squad to the battlefield. The operational reliability of the vehicle led to the development of numerous variants, one of which was the 250/3 Leichter Funkpanzerwagen (Light Armored Radio Link Vehicle), used as a radio control nerve center between forward troops, artillery and air support. The "Greif" used by Erwin Rommel in North Africa as a fully advanced command post in close contact with frontline troops is a noted version.

It was developed during the ’20s and ‘30s by Rheinmetall and Krupp, one of the main artillery companies in Germany, with a view to optimizing resources and technological capabilities within the parameters imposed by the Treaty of Versailles. From 1933 onwards, Germany's rearmament planning became ever more ambitious, with a particularly significant increase in the production of howitzers and field cannons. The SFH18 had a simple and reliable structure with a maximum range of 13.5 km. It could be divided into two sections and towed by horses, or more often during the war, by half-tracks. The SFH18 had a seven-man crew. A 105 mm calibre version was developed on the same carriage, (sK 10,5 cm)which was characterized by the longer barrel, but was produced in few specimens as much heavier than the standard 105 mm leFH18, which was the field artillery cannon supplied to the Wehrmacht. To meet the logistical needs of the US Army landing forces in transferring loads quickly and efficiently from ships to beaches, the American General Motor CCKW-353 2½ t 6x6 amphibious version tactical transport truck was designed and built for this purpose. The basic vehicle components were the same as the GMC road truck with its 4,400 cm3 6-cylinder engine, three differentials and six driving wheels. The DUKW was characterized by a welded hull to make it amphibious, which was then reinforced by horizontal ribs. Its key attribute however was its extraordinary versatility and load capacity. It could carry a 2,400 kg payload or 25 fully equipped troops. DUKWs were deployed extensively in all theaters of war by the U.S. Army, U.S. Marines and the armed forces of numerous Allied countries. Notably, they featured in many significant WW11 beach landings including the D-Day Normandy landings at Utah and Omaha and also at Salerno, Anzio and on the beaches of the Pacific campaign. Article number: 510072005 Product: 1:72 King Tiger The heavy tank Sd.Kfz 182 Panzer VI Ausf. B "King Tiger" came into service with the German army since mid 1944. Compared to its predecessor, the Tiger I, several differences and improvements have been adopted : a completely new chassis, a stronger armor characterized by the sloped frontal hull (bringing to a total weight of almost 70 tons) and the lethal 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 gun as main armament. Thanks to its Mayback V-12 engine the King Tiger was able to reach the maximum speed of 42 Km/h. For the mass production two different turret solutions has been used : the Porsche turret, at the beginning, and the Henschel turret for the most of the units produced. Both ot them were able to load 80 rounds for the main cannon. The first combat use of the King Tiger was by the 503rd Heavy Panzer Battalion during the Battle of Normandy on July 1944.

The armored command vehicle was designed on the Panzer I Ausf. B light tank chassis. To increase the space for the unit commander and his staff, the traditional rotating turret with the main armament was removed and a tall fixed superstructure was installed. The commander’s room was able to host the battle maps, the transmission and the communication systems. An additional radio antenna could be used, on the hull, to increase the range of radio communication. Produced from the second half of ‘30s the "Panzerbefehlswagen" has been used in combat operations in September 1939 during the Poland invasion. Powered by a Maybach 6-cylinder petrol engine it was able to reach a speed of 55 km / h even on ‘off road’ terrain. Produced in huge numbers, it was mainly used to transport ‘Panzergrenadiers’, but during the war several versions were developed to meet differing operational requirements. The Wurfrahmen rocket launcher version was built on the Sd.Kfz.251. Equipped with 6 compartments, 3 on each side, intended for the launch of rockets of different sizes, it was nicknamed "Stuka zu Fuss". Article number: 510007063 Product: 1:72 US M3A1 Spähpanzer The White Motor Company began its study and development of the M3 in 1938 to supply the United States Army with an armored reconnaissance vehicle. Equipped with a 6 cylinder 110 Hp Hercules JXD petrol fueled engine, it could reach a maximum speed of 81 Km/h. Equipped with four-wheel drive, it was used for patrol, reconnaissance and command post. The vehicle could carry up to 8 men and was armed with a 12.7 mm Browning M2 machine gun plus two more Browning 7.7 mm machine guns on the sides. It was first used in the Philippines campaign in 1941. Used in North Africa and in Sicily, it was replaced during the war, for advanced exploration tasks, by the more modern M8 Greyhound. Besides being used by the American Army, it was used as well by the Armed Forces of England, France and by some divisions of the Red Army who used it on the Eastern front to pull 76 mm ZIS-3 cannons.
